It’s the same thing with trying to solve climate change without listening to women. We can bring really high-quality jobs to coastal communities.”ĭuring a different panel earlier in the day, another panelist, Dr. Abby responded, “what made it personally meaningful is that I have always felt very passionate about climate change and the best thing about offshore wind is that the communities that will experience the greatest impacts from climate change and sea levels rising are the communities that will see the most benefit from offshore wind so there is a sense of equity in that. When asked why she joined Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE), she said "I joined WRISE to be part of a community of industry leaders focused on energy transition and promoting a sustainable future.As the moderator shifted the conversation back to offshore wind specifically, she asked Abby what sold her on wind. She's currently a Master's student at University of Waterloo (Sustainability) and a Level 1 Candidate of the Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) Credential offered by Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). She has completed the Green Economy program (sustainability studies) from Toronto Metropolitan University. Snehal holds a Bachelor’s degree from Mumbai University and has completed her postgraduate studies from Auckland University of Technology. More recently, she has worked at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) as a Commercial Account Manager (CAM) and at PwC within the Sustainability and Climate Change team. She has served as a Corporate Banking Relationship Manager for Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, one of UAE's largest banks. She started her professional journey in investment banking at JP Morgan and later worked at Statistics New Zealand. Snehal has broad-ranging international experience across infrastructure finance, ESG research and corporate banking with specialization in providing sustainable finance solutions for Government-sponsored entities, renewable energy companies, waste management companies, real estate entities, and key public sector listed companies.
